Phnom Penh Shooting & Sightseeing Tour: Prices, Weapons & Booking Guide
Tour Overview
The Phnom Penh Shooting & Sightseeing Tour is a full-day experience that pairs Cambodia’s most sobering historical sites with the adrenaline rush of an outdoor shooting range — giving you a deeper understanding of the country’s past alongside an activity you’ll remember for a lifetime.
Run by Cambodia Shooting Ranges, one of the country’s longest-running shooting tour operators, this tour begins with optional visits to the Toul Sleng Genocide Museum (S-21) and the Choeung Ek Killing Fields — two of the most important sites for understanding the Khmer Rouge era. After a lunch break, you head to Cambodia’s only outdoor mountainous shooting range in Kampong Speu Province, roughly 90–120 minutes southwest of Phnom Penh.
What makes this tour unique is the combination of cultural depth and firepower. The morning provides powerful historical context, while the afternoon delivers an arsenal of 18+ different weapons on a pay-as-you-shoot basis — everything from AK-47s and M16s to belt-fed machine guns, .50 calibre, M79 grenade launchers, live hand grenades, and RPG-7 rocket launchers.

Practical Information
Visitor Tips
- Bring plenty of USD cash. Budget $100–300+ for shooting on top of the $45 base price, plus $16 for museum entrance fees if visiting both sites.
- Manage expectations on the sightseeing. Toul Sleng and the Killing Fields are emotionally heavy. The lunch break helps you decompress before the shooting portion.
- The RPG is the once-in-a-lifetime option. Expensive ($200–500+), but this is one of the few places on earth where tourists can fire a rocket launcher.
- Consider the video service. The $50 professional video package with 4 cameras and a drone is excellent value for groups wanting a polished souvenir.
- Wear closed-toe shoes. The range is outdoors on uneven terrain. Bring sun protection — hat, sunglasses, sunscreen.
- Pack water and snacks. Cold water and beer are included, but the 8+ hour day is long. Bring extras for the drive.
- The sightseeing is optional. If you’d rather skip the museums and focus on shooting, the operator can adjust the itinerary.
- Tipping is appreciated. $5–10 USD for your guide/driver is typical for a full-day tour in Cambodia.
What Visitors Say
This tour holds a 4.5 out of 5 rating on GetYourGuide with 2 reviews. The operator (Cambodia Shooting Ranges) has an established reputation with hundreds of reviews across TripAdvisor and Google.
The most consistent praise is for guide professionalism, weapon variety, and the unique history-plus-adventure combination. Main considerations: extra costs for ammunition and the long drive.
